hooray! another weekend devoted to the big thing you cant do unless youve already done it a lot before! (referring of course to groups requiring high rank, which can only be achieved by winning in HA, which can only be achieved by getting a good group to go in, which can pretty much only be achieved by having high rank, etc)

So wait...is the chest loot referring to the HA chest? or PVE chests?

They are talking about the chest that appears after you win a match in the Halls.

Hmm...well done.
This will be like the weekend where it was double champion points. Only a certain few could even receive them. Now only certain groups will make it to halls, and actually win it to receive the double loot drops.

/agree
many people will try to win halls like people with non rank, but then they will most likely lose and get discouraged, then it will go back down to the normal people who are there, maybe a little extra.

Not every event caters to all players, that should be obvious. Skillcap weekends cater to title-hunters, glad point weekends cater to TA players, double greens cater for whoever. This particular one caters to HA regulars, how dare you complain?

This would be all fine and good along time ago, where the rank difference between newer and experienced players wasn't this far apart.
But i understand Anet effort's to move more ppl to HA, sadly this won't help much.

Well, Skuld, events like Skill Cap and Double Greens cater to a large number of players. Events like Double Champion Points and HA Chest Loot cater to a much smaller amount of people (When it was Champ points, only the top 22 [?] guilds could earn them. HA chest- top rank HAers).
I've always been surprised they would even put unique items in the HoH chest. Do PvPers actually need gold? Well GL to all who enjoy this weekend, but it is useless to me.

Hmm...this weekend event is definatly going to be excluding a vast majority of players, considering winning in HA usually requires a good team/good guild to do.
I have no idea why Anet would make an event like this, I mean double faction is alright, but its exclusive to HA this weekend, and very few people will be getting the double loot.
Why they didn't include double-fame is beyond me.

Double chest drop? That chest is opened once every 8 miniutes and is usually 3 items at a time. An extra 24 items droping every hour in ALL of GW. That's pretty stingy for an event. Well, at least maybe sigils will drop in price.

You obviously haven't been in halls for a while. Each party member now gets an item after each win. So now maybe I can double my chance for more ethereal garments. /sarcasm

@ Hell Raiser ~ not every format has an equal amount of players, should one not recieve a bonus weekend because of numbers? From what i've seen, ANet tries to cater to all players, at some point, in these weekends.

Because double fame is retarded and everyone would run SF or ritspike.
